Gloriously tall at over five feet, I painted the zinnias on my porch over three consecutive days in a sort of plein air marathon. I love the brightness of the flowers against the pines in deep shadow and the slice of yellow-green lawn. I inserted the butterfly at the end as a nod to all the bees and butterflies I saw while painting.
